The short version: the Ontario oversize product is the Single trip permit — oversize only, priced at a flat CA$66.25; overweight is the Single trip permit — overweight, priced by the kilometre travelled inside the province. Every figure on this page is in Canadian dollars, exactly as its source publishes it, and nothing here is converted.
1. Where the load goes next
The bordering jurisdictions, each carrying the one fact that decides whether that border is the expensive one. A multi-jurisdiction lane is the actual job, and this is one click rather than a return to the index.
2. Ontario oversize permit fees
CA$66.25 flat, for the Single trip permit — oversize only (single-trip).
3. Ontario overweight permit fees
The overweight product here is the Single trip permit — overweight (single-trip).
Priced by the kilometre
Single trip permit — overweight up to 120,000 kg: $127.50 up to 100 km, $204 for 101-500 km, $265.25 over 500 km of travel on provincial highways
The source states a floor of CA$127.50, which is a floor and not a total.
Several provinces price an overweight permit by the kilometres travelled INSIDE that province. We do not measure per-province kilometres — that needs a Canadian road network and provincial boundary polygons (Statistics Canada / the National Road Network), which this engine does not hold — so the fee is left unpriced rather than computed from the lane total, which would be a different and smaller number.
4. Term and annual products
Products this province issues that we record and do not price2 products
Each of these is a real, published product. It is recorded and left unpriced because choosing between a trip permit and a twelve-month permit is a question about what is being bought, not a data gap — and answering it unasked would quote a year of permits for one move.
Each line below quotes the regulation in its own words, so the dollar signs are the regulation's. They are Canadian dollars, like every other figure on this page.
- Annual permit $448.75; enhanced annual permit $744.50; project permit $291.75 (enhanced project permit: fee varies with the number of trips).
- Single trip permit — overweight greater than 120,000 kg (superload), unlimited travel distance, $714. Flat, but reaching it needs a gross over 120,000 kg.
5. Who else issues a permit here
Part of the network here is permitted by somebody else. A provincial total can be complete and still be missing a whole permit.
- Ontario oversize/overweight permits are valid for the King’s Highways only; a municipal road on the route is permitted by that municipality and we hold no by-law.
6. These figures are Canadian dollars
Canadian permit fees are stated in CANADIAN DOLLARS by every source they come from, and this quote does not convert currency — there is no exchange-rate source on the answer path. A CAD permit fee is therefore shown on its own line in CAD and is NOT included in any US-dollar subtotal.

Questions
How much is an oversize permit in Ontario?
The Single trip permit — oversize only is CA$66.25 in Canadian dollars. That is the published figure, not a conversion.
Does Ontario price an overweight permit by distance?
Yes — and that is why we do not put a number on it.
Are these Ontario fees in US dollars?
Canadian permit fees are stated in CANADIAN DOLLARS by every source they come from, and this quote does not convert currency — there is no exchange-rate source on the answer path. A CAD permit fee is therefore shown on its own line in CAD and is NOT included in any US-dollar subtotal.
