What’s included in the price?
Each state’s permit and permit service fees, pilot cars, any police escort a state requires, the truck rate, fuel at the latest weekly diesel price, and any route survey or unavoidable toll on your route.
What’s not included?
Loading and unloading, cargo insurance above the carrier’s own cover, waiting time, avoidable tolls, tarping unless you ask for it, and customs on cross-border moves. We add no margin of our own. The full list is under every quote.
What extra charges can come up?
Costs that only the state or the day can settle: police escorts a permit office decides on, route surveys, bridge reviews, utility line lifts, flaggers, waiting time and cancellation. They are listed under “Extra costs that may apply”, outside the total.
How accurate is the quote?
Permit fees come straight from each state’s published fee schedule. The truck rate, escorts and fuel are estimates from published market rates, and mileage is within ±10% on most routes. The carrier sets the final price.
How long is the quote valid?
7 days. The quote shows the date the permit fees and the diesel price were read, so you can see how current each figure is.
Why does my load need escorts or police?
Each state sets the size at which a load needs pilot cars, and some require police for the largest loads. The quote applies each state’s rules along your route. Where a state leaves police to the permit office, it is listed as a possible extra.
Can I book a carrier through QuoteFleet?
Not from this tool: it prices the move but does not book it. You can find carriers in the QuoteFleet carrier directory and send one rate request to several of them, with their quotes collected on one page.
What is a route survey and do I need one?
A surveyor drives the route before the move to check bridges, overhead lines and tight turns. Some states require one for very large loads, and then it is in the price. Otherwise you only need one if a permit office asks.
